This week the Relief International and Quamed project team were pleased to hold a really productive Inception Workshop in Aden, to formally launch the RI Local Medical Supplier Development Project in Yemen. It was opened by the Deputy Minister of Health Dr Ahmed Abdulqader Al-Kamal, and attended by 80 delegates from MoH, SBDMA (NRA), National Program of Drugs, UN agencies, international and national NGOs, and suppliers. The workshop included great breakout sessions and discussions on the local market in Yemen, learning ways the project could best facilitate increasing the local procurement of quality-assured medical products for humanitarian partners in the country. It was a great event at the end of 2 weeks of stakeholder meetings!
