Customs investigations seized two trucks on February 7th carrying falsified medicines, classified as poisons by the Health Ministry. Minister of Finance, Hervé Ndoba, visited the site immediately, emphasizing the need for proper disposal through incineration. Samples analyzed the same day in Bangui revealed the danger posed by these products, prompting Health Minister Dr. Pierre Somsé to label them as poison, stressing the ministry’s efforts to combat pharmaceutical crimes. The medicines, belonging to Central African traders, sparked a judicial process despite their identities remaining undisclosed.
